Description

The 1/100 G CANNON MAGNA by BANDAI HOBBY is a plastic model kit from the "Mobile Suit Gundam F91" MSV (Mobile Suit Variation) manga, part of the Mobile Suit Gundam: OVAs and Side Stories series. This kit is a reissue of a classic model first released in 1992, faithfully recreating the G-Cannon Magna's heavy, armored silhouette and powerful beam cannons.

The G-Cannon Magna (model number F71B) is a defensive mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics under the Silhouette Formula Project for the Earth Federation Forces. It was designed for superior firepower and rugged battlefield performance during the late Universal Century conflicts. The mobile suit features large shoulder-mounted beam cannons, which are described as low-cost, high-performance weapons based on VSBR (Variable Speed Beam Rifle) technology. It also has twin small beam cannons built into both arms, known as double beam guns, and can be optionally equipped with a quadruple machine cannon.

Key features of this model kit include:

  • 1/100 Scale
  • Made of plastic
  • Snap-fit construction (cement is recommended for a more secure build)
  • Color-molded parts
  • 90's-era articulation
  • The large shoulder-mounted beam cannons can be swapped for the original G-Cannon's gatlings.
  • The kit also includes parts to reproduce the standard G-Cannon type, such as its head, backpack, quadruple machine gun, and shoulder armor parts.
  • Articulated fingers.

Included in the box are:

  • Pieces to build the G-Cannon Magna
  • Marking Stickers
  • Instructions

This kit is best suited for veteran builders looking to expand their late-Universal Century mobile suit collection with a bit of nostalgia. While it features snap-fit construction and color-molded parts, some sources suggest that painting is recommended to achieve a more accurate color scheme, as some parts, like the beam cannons, may come in a single color (e.g., white instead of gray). The articulation is considered average for a kit of its era, but can be improved with some modifications.
