This advanced formula is suitable for both brush painting and airbrushing, offering versatility for various modeling techniques. For optimal results when airbrushing, thinning with Mr. Color Thinner, Mr. Leveling Thinner, or Mr. Rapid Thinner is recommended, typically at a ratio of 1 part paint to 0-2 parts thinner, depending on desired viscosity. Some more fluid metallic colors may be used directly. When brush painting, 1 to 2 coats are usually sufficient, while airbrushing may benefit from 2 to 3 coats. Remember to stir the paint thoroughly before and during application, as the fine metallic particles can settle easily.
For long-lasting protection and to preserve the metallic luster, it is advisable to seal the painted surface. For many Super Metallic colors, including those in the SM201-SM205, SM207, and SM209 range, Mr. Super Clear, Mr. Super Clear UV Cut, or TOPCOAT can be used. For specific colors like SM206 and SM208, only a water-based topcoat (such as Aqueous Clear or Acrysion Clear paints) should be applied to prevent dulling.
