Mr Color GX 103 - Deep Clear Blue

Mr. Color GX 103 Deep Clear Blue is a premium solvent-based acrylic paint from GSI Creos, designed to elevate your modeling projects. This paint is part of the Mr. Clear Color GX series, known for its exceptional quality, delivering more vivid colors with outstanding clarity and transparency.

Perfect for creating stunning "candy coat" effects, this Deep Clear Blue can be applied over a silver base, such as SM201 Super Fine Silver 2 or Mr. Color C90 Shine Silver, to achieve a brilliant metallic candy gloss.

Mr. Color GX 103 is versatile for both brush painting and airbrushing. For optimal results with an airbrush, a bore diameter of 0.3mm or greater is recommended for an extremely fine spray. It can be diluted with Mr. Color Thinner, Mr. Rapid Thinner, or Mr. Leveling Thinner, with Mr. Color Leveling Thinner being specifically recommended for Mr. Clear Color GX paints.

For application, brush painters can apply 3 to 5 coats, while airbrush users typically need 2 to 3 coats. Begin with thin initial coats, allowing 30-60 minutes for drying, then apply thicker subsequent layers, letting each dry for 1 to 2 hours. For an even smoother and glossier finish, consider polishing the surface with Mr. Compound after the paint has fully cured, ideally after a few days or up to two weeks in colder conditions.
