AQUEOUS HOBBY COLOR - DEACTIVE WHITE from GSI Creos is a highly regarded acrylic paint, known for its exceptional user-friendliness and safety for hobbyists. This specific shade, Deactive White, offers a versatile semi-gloss finish, perfect for a wide range of modeling projects.
This paint is formulated with a very mild solvent, making it a safe choice for your workspace. It can be easily diluted with water, and brushes can be cleaned with water before the paint dries, simplifying cleanup after your painting sessions.
Achieving a smooth, professional look is straightforward with Aqueous Hobby Color. It boasts excellent leveling qualities, ensuring a consistent and even coated film of paint. While Deactive White inherently provides a semi-gloss sheen, the gloss level can be further customized. For a matte finish, mix approximately 5% of GSI Creos' H-40 Flat Base, or use 5 to 10% for varying semi-gloss effects.
For brush painting, 1 to 2 coats are generally recommended to achieve optimal coverage. When using an airbrush, 2 to 3 coats are suggested for the best results. If airbrushing, dilute the paint with 100 to 150% Mr. Aqueous Hobby Color Thinner (T-110 or T-111) for smooth application.
