[SWA-35] 1/76 JGSDF tank type 61

Build a piece of Japanese military history with this detailed 1/76 scale kit featuring the first domestically produced tank of the post-war era. This set represents the Type 61, a vehicle developed to replace aging American M4A3 and M24 tanks. Designed specifically for Japan's unique mountainous terrain, the Type 61 served as the backbone of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force for decades, remaining in active service until the year 2000.

This Special World Armor series release comes as a set of two complete tanks, allowing you to assemble a full tank squad in one box. The kit is molded in a neutral gray plastic for better visibility during the building process and features precision molding on key areas like the hull mesh and engine hatch screws. You can choose to build the later version of the vehicle by installing the included floodlights and smoke bomb launchers, or leave them off for a standard configuration.

The turret is designed with an opening hatch that can be positioned in either an open or closed state, providing a perfect spot for the included crew figures. For historical accuracy, the kit features a four-piece box assembly for the chassis and plastic tracks recreated with nine individual pieces per side. The main 90mm gun is designed to rotate, and the barrel features an open muzzle for a realistic look.
