The Yamato's formidable appearance at her commissioning is faithfully reproduced, including a new mold for the 15.5cm secondary guns, strategically positioned on both sides of the vessel. The top of the bridge is molded in white, allowing for easy accentuation and adding to the model's visual depth.

This versatile kit offers the flexibility to construct either a full-hull model, showcasing the entire ship, or a waterline model, perfect for diorama settings. The hull is molded in a dedicated gray color, accurately mimicking the battleship gray used at the Kure Naval Arsenal. Intricate details abound, with numerous portholes precisely sculpted to reflect their appearance before later sealing measures. The distinctive bilge keel attached to the hull side is also meticulously rendered, down to its fastening points.
