Description
Fujimi presents the iconic 1/700 Japanese aircraft carrier "AKAGI" [TOKU-35], a meticulously detailed full hull model kit capturing her formidable appearance during the pivotal Battle of Midway in 1942. This special edition offers an enhanced building experience, allowing you to construct the entire ship from keel to mast, complete with a display pedestal for showcasing your completed masterpiece.
Experience exceptional realism with laser-cut wooden deck stickers that accurately reproduce irregular grain patterns and are pre-cut for a perfect fit on the deck parts, making intricate detailing effortless. The kit also includes precision photo-etched parts to further enhance deck features such as elevators and windbreak fences. The hull itself is molded in a special gray color, mimicking the warship color used at the Kure Naval Arsenal, and features sharply carved portholes, external electrical wiring, and realistically reproduced fittings like fairleads, water supply, drainage ports, and armor thickness. The lower part of the ship is crafted from one-piece molded parts, with separate components for the screw and rudder.
This comprehensive kit provides everything needed to bring the "AKAGI" to life, including three types of aircraft from the Battle of Midway: the Zero Fighter, Type 99 Carrier Bomber, and Type 97 Carrier Bomber, now molded in gray for easier painting. Precision 25mm machine gun parts, with separate barrels and gun mounts, are also included, alongside a two-piece configuration for the Type 96 25mm machine gun. Decals for the Japanese flag, white deck lines, Hinomaru markings on the flight deck, and the ship's nameplate are provided for an authentic finish.
