ACRYSION BASE COLOR BASE GRAY by GSI Creos is an advanced water-based acrylic paint designed to be the foundational layer for your modeling projects. This innovative base gray (BN02) excels at covering mold colors, providing a consistent and neutral canvas for subsequent paint layers. It also functions as a surfacer and primer, making it ideal for preparing various materials, including ABS and resin, ensuring excellent adhesion and a smooth finish.

Part of the next-generation Acrysion line, this paint minimizes organic solvents, resulting in an ultra-low odor formula that is perfect for indoor use. Despite its water-based nature, it boasts a remarkably fast drying time, often between 5 to 15 seconds for brush application, significantly improving work efficiency. Once dry, the paint forms a durable, water-resistant, and solvent-resistant coating, capable of withstanding masking, weathering, and multi-layer techniques.

Acrysion paints are known for achieving an even, glossy finish with impressive auto-leveling properties, contributing to smoother and more uniform brushwork. It adheres to surfaces through its own adhesive qualities, rather than dissolving plastic, and is less likely to corrode delicate ABS parts. While it can be applied to solvent-resistant materials like urethane resin without a primer, using a primer will further enhance adhesion.

This versatile paint is suitable for both brush painting and airbrushing. For brush application, it can be used directly from the bottle, or thinned with a few drops of water or Acrysion Retarder if needed. When airbrushing, GSI Creos recommends using their dedicated Acrysion Airbrush Thinner Modified at a dilution ratio of approximately 1:0.3 for optimal performance, though tap water can also be used. Cleanup is easy with water before the paint dries; after drying, a dedicated Acrysion tool cleaner is recommended.
